Born in Saitama, Japan, Arina Fujiwara is a composer and pianist. She began her piano studies at age 3. She has won many prizes at several competitions including 3rd Prize at Japan-Beethoven Concours, 2nd Prize at The European International Piano Concours, Won at Chopin International Music Competition in Asia, Won JPTA Piano Audition and Unsigned Only Music Competition as semi finalist.
She studied classical music at Toho Gakuen College in Tokyo, Japan and then is interested in jazz music. She earned a Bachelor of music degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston. Also, she holds a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music. She studied with Elio Vilafranca and Joel Ross.
She has performed some venues in New York such as Tomi Jazz and Fiction bar. Also, she toured in Hokkaido and Tokyo, Japan in 2023.
She released her album, Neon in 2023. The album contains four of her original songs for string quartet, vibraphone and guitar and arranged traditional songs. Ms. Fujiwara’s originals are unique and include classical and jazz elements blended in her style.
3歳よりピアノを始め、桐朋女子高等学校音楽科、桐朋学園大学にてクラシックピアノを学ぶ。
2009年ショパン国際コンクール in ASIA 入賞、2010年JPTA入賞及びフレッシュコンサートに出場。ヨーロッパ国際ピアノコンクール in JAPAN銀賞、2011年日本ベートーヴェンコンクール第3位入賞。
卒業後、ジャズピアノに興味をもち渡米。バークリー音楽大学、マンハッタン音楽院大学院のジャズパフォーマンス専攻を卒業。Unsigned Only Music Competition セミファイナリスト。ジャズピアノをJoanne Brackeen、 Elio Villafranca、Joel Rossに師事。
2023年、自身のアルバムである『Neon』をリリース。
現在ニューヨークにて演奏活動や後進の指導も行なっている。
